The National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) is a standardized test that the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) has introduced to determine if a candidate is ready to be licensed as an entry-level nurse in Australia.
The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) was developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. This is a prerequisite examination for graduate nurses in the United States and Canada. In early 2020, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) adapted this concept for their new program named Outcome Based Assessment (OBA) for Stream B candidates.
The OBA was established as a consistent approach for Internationally Qualified Nurses (IQN) across the globe. This assessment is divided into two categories: MCQ/NCLEX-RN and OSCE as preparatory exams before they begin to practice as entry-level nurses. If a student has previously passed the NCLEX-RN from the US and Canada, score transfer can be done as long as it is within the 10 years validity period. NCLEX-RN can be taken in any country that administers the exam. Once NCLEX-RN has been cleared, a student automatically proceeds to the OSCE stage, which is a practical examination that is taken in Adelaide, Australia.
Nurse Assist International (NAI) pioneered at providing holistic and high-quality education for Australian NCLEX-RN and OSCE preparation to onshore and offshore students. NCLEX-RN has four major categories and eight subcategories that measures a candidate’s minimum competency needed to provide safe and effective nursing care to clients. It is also a Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) that allows a student to get easy to hard level questions depending on one’s response to the previous one. The computer will stop giving questions once it has determined a student’s level of competence.
NCLEX-RN requires high cognitive ability and critical thinking skills of a nurse. NAI is the best institution to provide NCLEX-RN preparation classes. We provide a study plan for the course, so every student could set up their mind and focus on working together with the educators toward success. Comprehensive teaching, mock tests, test taking strategies, and final coaching will prepare you for this examination.
Aside from the guidance of our educators, we also require our students to be responsible and give their 100% effort. One’s commitment to attend coaching classes as well as putting heart and time to reading and answering practice questions will serve as a foundation in achieving success. NAI will help you hone your nursing knowledge and put it into application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of various nursing processes. Students are also encouraged to take notes, participate and share thoughts and ideas during classes. This will provide knowledge retention, hence, high chances of passing.

Who is this course for?
This course is specifically designed for overseas registered nurses who are aiming to pursue a career in nursing in Australia. This course is the first part of the newly introduced Outcome Based Assessment (OBA) pathway.
How is the NCLEX-RN exam conducted?
This examination is administered using Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) where each candidate’s examination is unique as it is arranged interactively as the examination proceeds.
How do I pass the NCLEX-RN exam?
To pass the NCLEX-RN, you must demonstrate that your level of competency is above the minimum standard. As you answer questions correctly, you’ll be given increasingly difficult questions, and you should try to answer them correctly so that the NCLEX-RN algorithm can identify your passing-level competency with 95% confidence.
Answering questions correctly will require both nursing core content knowledge and critical thinking skills. We recommend you study with a mix of content, strategy, and practice.
Does every nurse need to give an NCLEX-RN exam?
Not every internationally educated candidate will have to write NCLEX-RN; but, only those who have been asked by the NMBA has to take the exam. It is part of their eligibility assessment. These candidates might also need OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) to show their skill set and practical competence.
Nurse Assist International’s classes are designed to accommodate those who have been asked by the NMBA to take NCLEX-RN. Our NCLEX-RN review course is up to date and covers everything that you need to pass the exam.
